Moolahgo: Empowering Singapore’s Migrant Workers
Moolahgo leads the way when it comes to providing financial inclusivity for the foreign domestic workers community in Singapore. Moolahgo does this by providing them with access to affordable and convenient financial services at the touch of a fingertip.
Migrant domestic workers in Singapore face many challenges, including high living expenses, debt back home, and limited access to financial services in Singapore. Moolahgo addresses these challenges by offering a range of financial services, including remittance services, payment services, and it’s soon to be launched personal loans services.
One of the ways that Moolahgo is helping migrant domestic workers in Singapore is by providing them with an alternative to traditional remittance services. Traditional remittance services often charge high fees and offer poor exchange rates, which can be a significant burden for migrant workers who are already struggling to make ends meet. Moolahgo offers competitive exchange rates and low fees, making it a more affordable option for migrant workers. This helps workers to send money back home to support their families without being subjected to unreasonable fees. Mooloahgo also continues to streamline this process by allowing same-day ‘instant transfers’ regardless of the day of the week to 40 over countries in Asia. The convenience of this service is second to none. With moolahgo’s app, migrant domestic workers will be able to remit and manage their finances on their phone and their e-wallet. Regulated and licensed by the Monetary Authority of Singapore, Moolahgo ensures the safety and the legitimacy of each transaction done on our app.
MoolahGo has also engaged with migrant domestic workers in Singapore through various lucky draws and giveaway programs. These giveaways are aimed at providing practical financial assistance, incentive and support to migrant workers in Singapore, as well as fostering a sense of community and connection. For instance, MoolahGo’s “Caring for Migrant Workers” program provided essential items to migrant workers, including face masks, hand sanitiser, and personal care products. Moolahgo also distributes educational materials on how to stay safe and healthy during the COVID-19 pandemic. Additionally, Moolahgo runs “Lucky Draw” programs where we reward migrant workers with cash prizes, and a “Refer-a-Friend” program where workers can receive a reward for referring their friends to Moolahgo’s services. These prizes and events are meant to educate and engage a community to start adopting technology and to also stay pro-active in managing their personal financial situation.
In addition to these giveaway programs, Moolahgo also engages with migrant workers through social media and community events. MoolahGo’s social media channels provide useful information and tips on managing finances and adapting to life in Singapore, and the company also participates in community events such as the annual Migrant Workers’ Appreciation Day, Ramadan and Labour Day activities for the community. Moolahgo also works closely with the embassies to ensure that there are events to keep the community engaged and also financially literate. Moolahgo’s goals are to ensure that we can help to keep our users and the greater community feel welcomed, safe and respected in Singapore.
Through these various initiatives, MoolahGo is actively engaging with and supporting the migrant worker community in Singapore. Moolahgo continues to work hard in tandem with embassies, corporate partners, community leaders and NGO’s to ensure that the migrant domestic workers community is well taken care of in Singapore. With financial inclusivity at the core of it’s mission, Moolahgo aims to add many more programs into its fold for 2023.
